Muffer brings the work to you as a job card. You edit, you submit, you get paid on a fixed schedule. This guide walks the whole thing in a couple of minutes, so everything is answered up front, in plain language.
90 seconds: how one job flows. Prefer to read? Everything in the video is also written on the next cards.
No pitching. No sales calls. No “just following up on that invoice.” Muffer holds the client relationship; you only ever touch the edit. Work shows up, you do it well, you move on.
A job card lands on WhatsApp with the deliverable, deadline, payout, brief and assets. You reply START (begin now), LOCKED (accepted, with your ETA) or PASS (skip it, no penalty).
It's the first thing editors ask, and it's the wrong question. A 20-second ad and a 20-minute podcast aren't the same work, so a flat per-minute rate would shortchange you on the hard jobs. Pay tracks the actual job — complexity, length, turnaround, format — and every card shows its number before you accept.
Reels & Shorts (≤90s): ₹450–800 · motion-heavy / pro ₹900–1,400. Long-form (8–12 min): ₹2,500–7,500. Rush jobs carry a bonus on top.
Payout = your base rate × the job's complexity, shown on the card before you accept.
Tell us the monthly number you're aiming for and we route work to help fill it on a best-effort basis — no guarantees, but reliable editors get first pick of the best cards. Pick or pass, your hours, your own edit business without the clients or the dry months.
Payouts run on fixed dates — the 15th and the last working day of every month, by NEFT bank transfer. Clear QC before a cutoff and you're in that run; clear it after, and you roll to the next one. No invoices to raise, no chasing.
Score, on-time delivery and volume move you up a tier automatically. Higher tiers get more cards, higher-complexity briefs, and a higher pay range. It's a ramp you earn — not a number we hand out.

Consistent quality → steady allotment.
Best editors, biggest briefs.
Every delivery is reviewed by a senior editor against a clear rubric. Your score is feedback you can act on, and it's what grows your allotment — strong work today is more and better work tomorrow.
Revisions inside the brief are part of the job. New direction after approval is a fresh card — Muffer handles that conversation with the client. Misses that are your error, you fix free.
If a client cancels mid-project, you're paid proportional to the progress you've made at the point of cancellation, subject to review. The further along, the more you keep.
This protection covers client-side cancellations. It doesn't apply where the cancellation comes from a quality failure or policy breach on your end. Specifics are governed by your partner agreement.
The bar isn't perfection — it's communication. Read the brief before accepting, share an ETA, flag blockers early, and never go silent. That alone puts you ahead of most.
Nothing buried. The few rules that protect the clients you work for:
It ramps with you. New partners start on a trial flow and a few cards; as your score and reliability hold, your allotment grows. We pace intake to real client demand so active editors actually get work, not an empty queue.
Your Buddy — one assigned Muffer contact on WhatsApp for everything: brief questions, asset issues, payout queries, escalations. You never deal with the client directly.
Tools, subscriptions and software are your cost of operating as a creative professional — same as a designer paying for Adobe. At the volume we target, that cost gets covered many times over each month. We can't centrally manage subscriptions across every partner without it becoming a compliance and access mess. This is your side of the business.
Top-tier editors do, but it's earned: more approved jobs, higher complexity, consistent on-time delivery and QC scores. It's the top of the ramp, not a starting number. Most build toward it.
After your trial sample is submitted and reviewed. Submit it quickly and cleanly and you move fastest — the bottleneck is almost always a half-finished sample, not us.
Straight to your bank account by NEFT, once your KYC and bank details are on file. No UPI, no wallets, no points — a clean bank transfer on the 15th and the last working day of the month.
Good editors know good editors. Bring one along before you start — you both win. They skip the cold start, and you earn a referral bonus once they're properly up and running.
Tick yes and we'll hand you a ready-to-forward WhatsApp message at the end — with your referral ID built in, so every editor you bring is tracked to you.
Here's the shape of it: no clients, a fixed pay schedule, and a ramp you earn — your hours, your terms. One short trial sample is all that stands between you and your first card.
This guide is informational. Exact payout rates and terms are governed by your partner agreement with Muffer.
